Dr. Cheryll Dunn
Lifetime Achievement in STEM
This year’s honoree for the Lifetime Achievement in STEM Award in Dr. Cheryll Dunn. Dr. Dunn earned her Associates, Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral Degrees from the University of Cincinnati. She retired from UC are nearly a lifetime of serving students on campus.

Applied Scientist of the Year
Cathy Bailey is this year’s Applied Scientist of the Year. She is the Executive Director of Greater Cincinnati Water Works. Ms. Bailey is the first woman and African-American woman to lead the utility since its formation 200 years ago.
Deborah Allsop
Community Advocate of the Year
Deborah Mariner Allsop is this year’s Commnity Advocate of the Year. She has been the executive director/CEO of FamiliesFORWARD, a United Way of Greater Cincinnati partner agency, since October 2007.

Community Organization of the Year
TThe mission of the Cincinnati NAACP Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological, & Scientific Olympics is to aid high schoolers (grades 9-12) work towards achieving excellence in academic and cultural achievement. t is a program that can aid in closing the achievement gap that tends to be prevalent in minorities. ACT-SO strengthens high school academic skills.

Corporation of the Year
GE and the African-American Forum (AAF) have been committed to supporting STEM Education initiatives for many years. Through the volunteer efforts of their employees, they’ve supported programs at all levels. They’ve partnered with the University of Cincinnati College of Engineering and Applied Science‘s Inclusive Excellence and Community Engagement Department to develop a mentoring program for their Choose Ohio First Scholars,
Carmen DeLoach
Educator of the Year (K-6)
Carmen Deloach is from the wonderful Peach State, Georgia. She relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio to earn her Bachelor’s at Xavier University (c/o 2009). She also holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Cincinnati. She is now in her third year as a STEM instructor at Taft Elementary School where she is committed to nurturing the future leaders and contributors of STEM/STEAM fields both in her school, home and community.
Erick Allen
Educator of the Year (7-12)
This year’s Educator of the Year for grades 7-12 is Mrs. Caroline Robb. Erick Allen. rick Allen is an Experienced Math and Science Teacher with a love for students and a demonstrated history of working in the education management industry. He currently works as a Math and Statistics teacher within the Cincinnati Public School District and brings over 25 years of experience to the classroom.
Howard Elliott
Engineer of the Year
This year’s Engineer of the Year is Mr. Howard Elliott. Howard is a partner in the management consulting firm WEB Ventures. WEB Ventures was hired by the Uptown Consortium to insure that the residents and businesses of Uptown, a five neighborhood urban community, share in the economic benefits of the “Innovation Corridor” which is a multi-year development project.
Robert Richardson, Jr.
Entrepreneur of the Year
This year’s Entrepreneur of the Year is Mr. Robert Richardson, Jr. Rob is the founder of Disruption Now Media, a platform that connects black and brown entrepreneurs, artists, and leaders through interactive events, educational content, podcasts, virtual and in-person summits. Disruption Now Podcast hosts conversational podcasts with disruptors focused on impact.
Dr. James Mack
Faculty Member of the Year
This year’s Faculty Member of the Year is Dr. James Mack. As associate dean of the Graduate School at the University of Cincinnati, Dr. Mack provides strategic direction over the necessary processes of the Graduate School, which support its many students, faculty, programs and staff.
Dr. Corinne Foley
Graduate Student of the Year
This year’s Graduate Student of the Year is Dr. Corinne Foley. They recently received their PhD in Immunology from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine (UCCOM) and are currently in their 3rd year of medical school to pursue a career as a pediatrician scientist.
Dr. O’dell Owens
Healthcare Professional of the Year
This year’s Healthcare Professional of the Year is Dr. O’dell Owens.. Dr. Owens has been critical to the education of our community about COVID-19His long record of community service earned a well-deserved retirement from Interact for Health in 2021 but Dr. Owens continues to actively serve the community.
Racquel Redwood
Rising Star of the Year
This year’s Rising Star of the Year is Ms. Racquel Redwood. An accomplished creative, She has expertise in engineering, entrepreneurship, consulting and more. Racquel is currently a Senior Human Factors Engineer at Johnson & Johnson.
Josette Riep
Technologist of the Year
This year’s Technologist of the Year is Mrs. Josette Riep. Josette is the Director of Software Development in IT@UC and holds a Master’s Degree in Information Technology as well as a degree in Business Administration and Technology.
Kaylaa Betts
Wesleigh White Memorial Scholar
Kaylaa Betts is a seventeen year old student at Walnut Hills High School. She is a STEM fanatic, who continues to grow and share her passion with others through her small business, volunteering and leading projects on her robotics team
