Mrs. Carmen DeLoach

Educator of the Year (K-6)

Carmen Deloach is from the wonderful Peach State, Georgia. She relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio to earn her Bachelor’s at Xavier University (c/o 2009). After graduating she took an unconventional route to the classroom. She worked in Higher Education for five years working in Student Activities, Residence Life and Interfaith. She spent one year working at a boarding school in Louisiana as well! Working with various age groups in different settings created a paradigm shift of what education is and could be. Carmen continued exploring different roles in education by teaching grades 5-9, obtaining her Master’s degree from the University of Cincinnati (c/o 2019), and completing a cohort with CEEMS! Taking on these various roles in life prepared her to become a STEM/STEAM teacher. She is now in her third year as a STEM instructor at Taft Elementary School where she is committed to nurturing the future leaders and contributors of STEM/STEAM fields both in her school, home and community.
